It was a beautiful day to be out hiking--the first crisp feeling of autumn in the air, a brilliant blue sky...Steve couldn't resist. So he guilted stuffed into a car and ignored the complaining got Danny to go with him and was now taking his--okay, larger than usual, but still not ridiculous--backpack from the back of the car they'd rented.

"Thanks for agreeing to come hiking this weekend, Danny," Steve said like it hadn't been a kidnapping with the promise of trail mix. "It's gonna be great."
